The wildfires have severely disrupted the livelihoods of essential workers in our community, including caregivers, housekeepers, landscapers, and hourly and part-time service workers serving homes and businesses in the Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Pasadena, Altadena, Topanga Canyon, Studio City, Hollywood Hills, and other areas impacted by the devastating Los Angeles County fires. The Fuerza Fund is a vital initiative designed to provide direct emergency cash assistance to workers and families affected by the wildfires. This fund recognizes that many of these individuals come from mixed legal status families or multi-generational households, meaning traditional relief efforts may not reach them. By offering immediate financial support, the Fuerza Fund ensures that no one is left behind during this crisis.

For Workers and Families

We are focused on providing direct, tangible support to those impacted by the wildfires with flexible, cash-based assistance for the following:

  • Emergency Stipends: Helping workers and families purchase essential needs such as food, clothing, and lodging/housing, transportation, utilities, and other critical needs during this crisis.
  • Gift Cards for Essentials: For those without bank accounts, ensuring immediate access to groceries, food delivery, and other necessities.

Immediate payments can be made, currently within 3 days of review and approval, and in some cases, on the same day.

Why Your Support Matters

Impact on Workers
Service workers are essential to the fabric of our community. By supporting their recovery, we help stabilize local families, preserve economic activity, and ensure a faster return to normalcy for all.

Impact on Students
For displaced students, timely support ensures they can continue their education without the added stress of basic survival. Providing housing, food, and financial assistance helps them stay focused on their studies and their future.

Your Investment in Recovery
Every dollar you contribute directly impacts those hardest hit by this disaster. Your support provides immediate relief, facilitates long-term recovery, and strengthens our community’s resilience in the face of future challenges.

How You Can Help

If you or someone you know has been affected, you can apply for assistance directly on their website: AFABC.org/fuerza-fund. If you’re in a position to help, donations are also accepted and will go toward supporting these workers and their families.

This is just one resource, but we need more like it. The road to recovery is long, and it will take a collective effort to rebuild not just homes, but the entire fabric of our communities.
