Dear Reader,
As a lifelong member of the community and a 30+ year veteran in the real estate business, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many types of professions. Over the years, I’ve built a long referral list of these resources for you and my clients. Recently I started highlighting the professionals on my list. This month’s businesses include the co-owner of Gus & Andy’s kitchen and bar in Montrose, the owner of EVERSON clare, a boutique in La Canada, and Taylor Paschal, a local hair stylist where color is her specialty.
Watch our fun one-on-one video interviews and get all of their contact details.
I always have room for more Pros on my list. So call and share your profession with me. 818-388-1631
Typically, the selling season is in full swing by mid-March with a decent amount of inventory. So far, the Spring sellers’ have yet to surface. Take a look at some basic stats for March broken down by City and zip codes. This month I added a new number to help show you how low inventory actually is across the Foothill community. I added the number of single-family homes in the specific zip code. For instance, La-Crescenta 91214 and Montrose 91020 have a combined total of 11,360 single-family homes, with only 15 currently for sale.
Take a look at the current market stats for several local communities: Northwest Pasadena, Altadena, La Canada, La Crescenta, Glendale, Tujunga, Sunland, and Shadow Hills.
The number of new listings added to the MLS each week has been falling by double-digits, and total active inventory is following suit.
Meanwhile, buyers remain frustrated as the lack of inventory still creates bidding wars. The three recent bank failures will likely help buyers with better interest rates. But rate drops will likely motivate buyers that took a seat on the fence to get up and join an already crowded pool of buyers.
Interestingly, the media continues to report buyer demand has softened, but there are no signs of this in the communities across the Foothills. If your concern about selling is the lack of buyers or a significant decline in value, I can assure you neither is accurate. There are several strategies I am executing for sellers. If you are considering placing your home on the market, let’s discuss the right approach to meet your needs and concerns.
On a brighter note, welcome to Spring. Here is a fun fact about Spring: Before Spring was called Spring, it was called Lent in Old English. Then, starting in the 14th century, it became “springing time”—a reference to plants “springing” from the ground. Then in the 15th century, this was shortened to “spring-time” and further shortened in the 16th century to “spring.” My favorite part of this season are the colors in my garden. I’m curious to know what you enjoy about Spring.
You can find more resources about real estate, rates, general home information, and much more. Take a look at some of my most recent blog posts.
As always, I value your input and feedback, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We’re all in this together, and I look forward to continuing to make our community a great place to live.
Respectfully,
Robbyn Battles
