In a recent interview with Crescenta Valley Insurance President Rick Dinger, he gave homeowners valuable insights and advice. The interview is a seven-part series aimed at offering guidance to those struggling with insurance in California. He addressed the challenges Californians face with obtaining and keeping homeowners insurance. As significant insurance carriers Allstate and State Farm have stopped issuing property insurance policies to new customers in California, homeowners are left with limited options. Dinger advises homeowners to work with local agents who can provide personalized attention and find the best policies for their needs. He also suggests exploring alternative options, such as the California Fair Plan, which provides coverage for high-risk properties. With wildfires and inflation driving up costs, homeowners must proactively secure their homes and assets.

According to recent news, major home insurance providers like Allstate and State Farm no longer provide new policies to California customers. This is due to significant losses incurred from wildfires. However, California’s Department of Insurance states that these companies may return in the future as conditions change. This withdrawal means that residents will have fewer options and high rates for new homeowners, impacting mortgage lenders who can’t sell houses without insurance. Despite this, no non-renewals are taking place with this announcement, and State Farm continues to write new private passenger auto insurance policies.

If you’re a homeowner in California, staying informed and taking steps to protect your home and belongings is essential. Check out the link to the interview for more information and helpful tips.  Rick Dinger Contact Information: 818-248-4500 | [email protected]
