Denise Miller is a licensed occupational therapist with a master’s degree in business administration. She has lived in Glendale for more than 20 years.
Denise has experience in managing teams in large, diverse organizations. She has negotiated and overseen budgets on par with the scope and complexity of city finances.
Denise has also served for more than a decade on the California Board of Occupational Therapy, an official public body with regulatory and disciplinary authority throughout our state.
Governor Jerry Brown appointed Denise in 2013 and 2015; Governor Gavin Newsom reappointed her in 2019. Four times, her colleagues have elected her to serve as Board President, most recently in 2023.
Denise was born at Dignity Health-Glendale Memorial and worked at both Adventist Health Glendale and USC Verdugo Hills hospitals.
Denise’s dedication to the diversity and betterment of Glendale has been demonstrated through active involvement on the Commission on the Status of Women, the Community Population Health Task Force, Glendale Latino Association, the Glendale Veterans Coalition, the Glendale Special Olympics Host Committee, and the Glendale Sunrise Rotary, Field of Honor Committee, to name a few organizations.
Among her most meaningful awards is Denise’s recognition by the Glendale Latino Association in 2012 as Woman of the Year. It is also a testament to Denise’s Latina heritage.
Her professional experience, work ethic, and deep, enduring civic engagement in Glendale have prepared her to serve ALL residents well as a Council member.
